We are excited to post Lindsey and Jeff’s engagement session at Stone Mountain Park because they are the first couple to be featured blog whose wedding we are photographing in 2016! Even though we are right in the middle of wedding season, our hearts will soon be fixed on our 2016 couples as well.

Lindsey and Jeff met us on a HOT summer day at Stone Mountain. Not quite as hot as the middle of summer, but still enough that we knew it was Georgia. We started our session at the Stone Mountain covered bridge, which if you are not aware, has a parking lot that you can drive to via a winding road when you pull into the Grist Mill area. The day was slightly overcast, but that was not a terrible thing, as overcast days make for the BEST photos-the diffused light does not cast those harsh shadows that you get in direct sunlight. Jeff and Lindsey were so in love with each other, they didn’t care about the hot weather, even when we asked them to pose “forehead to forehead” for a long length of time. In fact, I think it brought them closer together:) Lindsey’s vibrant and bubbly personality was definitely exhibited by her beautiful teal patterned dress and hot pink nails. Jeff looked sharp and handsome in his complimenting blue button down shirt.

After hanging out and taking some amazing pictures at the bridge and lake, we drove back up to the Grist Mill. At that point, these Georgia Bulldogs fans changed into their casual red and black outfits to finish their engagement session. Even though Matthew and I are Ohio State Buckeye fans (Matthew more so by association), we still appreciated their love and pride they had for their Bulldogs. Can we also take a moment and admire Lindsey’s beautiful engagement ring as well? Just gorgeous! We cannot wait for their 2016 wedding:)

We met Matt and Xan at the Atlanta LDS Temple for a portrait session-but we didn’t think the weather was going to hold based on the rain that we drove through on the way there. Xan, even though she didn’t show it, was panicking just a little bit when it was raining. But at the last minute, the sun came out and the clouds parted, and we photographed some BEAUTIFUL images of them at the Temple. We didn’t even use the cute, clear umbrellas we brought, but this past weekends weather made up for that (expect some rainy day wedding posts in the coming weeks:).

Matt and Xan were recommended to us from their good friends Braydon and Jenny, who were married earlier this year on Pi-day. We were excited that they chose us to photograph their wedding portraits (we were photographing another wedding on their actual wedding day, so we chose a day about a week earlier to photograph). If you have not been to the Atlanta LDS temple or passed by there, the building is absolutely beautiful! The landscaping around the temple as well is just stunning and modern, we really enjoy photographing here!

When Matt and Xan walked up to us on that day, we knew we were going to have a fun session. Xan’s smile is just contagious and Matt has an amazing sense of humor. The first thing that caught my eye was Xan’s dress. When we asked who designed it, she said with pride “my mom”. Our jaws dropped! It was so graceful and romantic, it looked like it could have been in the window of a bridal shop. We loved that her mom gave her this wonderful and heartfelt gift. Not to be outdone in the handmade category, take a look at the last picture of the “Thank you” sign. Xan made that herself! It was so well made, I asked her which Etsy store she bought it from. To which she replied “No, I made it.” What a crafty family you married into, Matt:)

Our favorite pictures of the day were the ones during golden hour, standing in the middle of the reflection courtyard behind the Temple. Those pictures are why we love photography. Soft light, beautiful subjects, and golden sun peeking through the trees. Just heavenly. We loved hanging out with these two and wish them the most joyous and happy of marriages!

What can we say about this next beautiful couple that isn’t already apparent in their pictures? Dena and Malachi are kind-hearted, God-centered, and genuine. We loved photographing their sweet wedding at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center!

When we pulled up that day and saw the Summerour House, we were so excited to be surrounded with such cute historical homes and structures. There were also beautiful trees around the ceremony space as far as you can see. These both made very fun backdrops to their wedding that was full of vintage charm. Dena and her girls were getting ready at the main house, which definitely felt like a warm and cozy French country cottage. The light coming in from the window in the bridal suite was so luminous, she looked angelic and calm as the wedding day was well under way. The pinks and marsala colors of the bridesmaids really complimented  Dena’s dress with a sweetheart neckline and illusion netting. Dena’s flower girl wore a dress that Dena wore when SHE was a flower girl as well, isn’t that just perfect?

Malachi and his guys were getting ready in a common area that doubles as a workspace for campers and visitors to the Heritage center, so the backdrop was a bit eclectic, but it fit with the personality of these guys! The marsala vest that Malachi wore, coupled with the pocket watch he kept on him really matched with their vintage theme.

After their emotional ceremony, we whisked them off to take wedding party and couples portraits right after. We even used our amazing Pentacon 6 Medium Format film camera (which we will be posting in a separate post about our film photography adventures soon:) Just take a look at their portraits-simply divine!

Congratulations Dena and Malachi, may your marriage be filled with the same joy and devotion you shared on your wedding day!

Oh.My.Goodness. It is almost October y’all!!! That means it’s time for leaves changing, sweater weather, and pumpkin EVERYTHING! But it also means that Amy and Eric are getting married-this weekend actually! While their wedding is in fall, we had the pleasure of driving up and meeting them in their hometown for some lovely engagement photos with a lot of flair:) These two had an electricity about them as soon as we met them. Amy was upbeat and bubbly, while Eric was charming and sweet, they were a Southern couple through and through. We laughed and giggled as we photographed near a house they had played and passed nearly a million times, and ended up photographing at their old elementary school, now a cool backdrop. Even though that summer day was hot and the mosquitoes were a bit bitey, we had a blast getting to know these two and their love for each other. Eric’s rock and roll style and Amy’s stylish wardrobe complimented each other perfectly-check out her floral dress, isn’t it just divine? And those Barbie pink high heels?! Clearly they were made for her and only her:)

We are so uber- excited for their wedding this Saturday, no doubt it is going to be a night to remember!!! Congratulations you two!!!

We met Emily and Kurt first at their engagement session at Washington Oaks State Park. They both were extremely friendly and full of life, that we knew their wedding was going to be the same! Since moving from Florida last, our hearts were aching for a chill, beach vibe, and Emily and Kurt’s May wedding did just that! They chose a venue on the inter-coastal called Wilbur-by-the-Sea. Even though it rained earlier that day, the clouds parted for their afternoon wedding and the sun came out just in time for their “I do’s”. Emily was one of the most laid back brides ever, even though she and her family coordinated their wedding themselves, she was still very calm and collected that day. She just wanted to get married:) The gorgeous sweetheart neckline and full skirt of her dress was breathtaking and her trademark smile was beaming ear to ear when she put it on. The day was filled with perfect DIY touches- the ring box Emily decorated, the centerpiece arrangements of eucalyptus and various white flowers were all made by hand, and even each of the bouquet were made by hand! We were floored at how much time and love went into making Emily and Kurt’s wedding day perfect. Not only did the rain hold off, but later on that night, sunset was a beautiful mix or soft orange and blue, making for some amazing portraits! The party went well into the evening, with everyone showing off their best dance moves and even some singing! We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating with Emily and Kurt that day, we cannot wait to see what the future holds for this awesome couple! Congratulations!!
